Geriatric Care Management is a profession that emerged in response to the growth of the older population, and the demographic and social changes that have changed the way we live. It serves to assist families with the wide array of concerns related to aging and declining health. Geriatric Care Managers have education, training, and experience in working with the older population. Typically, they have nursing, social work, gerontology, or psychology back grounds, and often have advance degrees in their field. In many in cases, they also have experience in specialized aspects of health and again such as dementia care or mental health.
